There has been some confusion
recently regarding the delivery of the Communique. The Communique
will always be sent by a member of the Kansas Area Marketing and
Communications staff. Please check that the following e-mail
addresses are listed in your e-mail contacts so the Communique will
go directly into your “In” box instead of your “Spam” or “Bulk”

The Communique’s publication
schedule is weekly on Wednesday. Occasionally, the Communique may be
sent Tuesday or Thursday or may not be published due to a holiday,
Annual Conference or other circumstance.

or bulk mailboxes.

Conference Growth Grants available
Kansas East Conference established the Growth Grants Program to
provide funds to support the expansion and enhancement of ministry
in the congregations and communities of the local United Methodist
churches. As the KEC engages in new initiatives to promote the
expansion of ministry through the local churches, funds will be
available to stimulate and support local church efforts.
The application deadline is Sept. 30.

Praise and worship dance camp
A praise and
worship dance camp for children in first through sixth grades will
be July 21-25 at Countryside UMC in Topeka. Participants can get a
taste of different worship dance styles and see dances by Topeka
worship dance groups.
Enrollment, due by July 16, is $25.

A Kansas East Conference United
Methodist Women spiritual retreat will be Aug. 9 at Wesley UMC in
Parsons. The theme is "There's Something About That Name – Jesus."
It will be led by Rev. Peggy Hillmon.
The retreat is from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with fellowship
beginning at 9 a.m. Lunch is included in the $5 registration fee.

Journey of Hope
“Journey of Hope,” Oct. 11 at
Countryside UMC in Topeka, will provide training to minister to
cancer patients and their families. Today almost everyone knows
someone with cancer—a family member, friend, coworker or
